To kick off my week of work experience with DBT, I was tasked with taking photos of all 22 government buildings around London. All the photos were shot on a Canon 80D with a 45-208MM lens. These are some of the better shots - with many more needing to be uploaded!
On day 2 at DBT, I chopped up a film of Ellie Steel talking about UKAI into a 45-second reel to put out on socials. For this, I modified a graphics template in After Effects to make a nameplate for the video. As well as this I created graphics on Adobe Photoshop to emphasise certain points in the video. Finally it was all put together in Premiere Pro using footage from the film, Shutterstock & Getty
On my 3rd day at DBT, I went to BETT to film Minister Thomas chat with exhibitors at the UK Government's stand which was promoting British education abroad. I was the DOP for this shoot and responsible for gathering shots for the final reel.
Nearing the end of my time at DBT I was given full creative control of DBTs Burns Night LinkedIn post. For this, I decided to build upon last year's post which was a still graphic and create 3 animations. I started by redesigning the graphics in Adobe Illustrator so I would be able to animate each element. Next, I took the assets into After Effects and animated each infographic. I enjoyed how these turned out as they looked professional and upleveled the previous year's design.
On my final day at DBT I took the animations I made the day before and put them inside a video for the Burns Night post. My original video included more animations but after revisions, this was the final product. Overall it topped off what was an incredibly fun and informative week.
